'Grade One' centres around the cello. Processing sounds electronically and layering loops to create an amateuristic expression of orchestral music, without any classical technique or training. It was an instrument I kinda gave up on, never making it past ‘Grade One’ in the musical grading system and actively being discouraged by my cello teacher to pursue the next stage. I wanted to see what would happen, if I could make something that could emulate that sound.
